This paper reviews how far the current research on the use of eyes as an interaction method between human and com- puter is. It includes 15 publications that present an interaction method using the eyes. All the studies include an empirical experiment to evaluate their interaction method. The findings of the paper can be put into three categories. (1) The use of eyes could be split into two kinds of interaction methods, eye gaze and eye movement, (2) in all experiments they use an eye tracker to register the inputs from the eyes, (3) and in all cases, the eye interaction method performs faster than the method it is compared to. The paper provides a discussion based on these three findings, and delves into the reasons for the little amount of research that is done on this popular topic. The discussion arrives at possible topics for future work and highlights unexplored questions.
